This game can be played with alphabet cards and/or do re mi cards. Use the system(s) that you want your students to be fluent in.
1. Stack one set (one color) of alphabet cards in thirds with all the letters facing up. The cards will be in order in thirds with the letter F on top.
Hold the cards in your left hand with the letters facing the rug.
2. With your right hand, toss down A C E face up in front of your students, saying the cards out loud as the cards land on the rug.
3. Pick the cards up in a stack as before and repeat, motioning for the students to say the letters with you. "Good!" Repeat the process and after a couple of times, allow the students to say the letters without you as you toss down the cards. When you feel they can do this easily, add G and repeat the same process.
