Tempos in First Steps
During First Steps, students are discovering tempos in their musical experiences, learning names, and associating tempo names with different tempos. Games begin in Second Steps.

Students learn all eleven of the most common tempos using symmetry, logic, a little knowledge of Italian and a bit of guessing that develops bravery

Together, teacher and students sing "do do so so" in each of the 11 tempos beginning with a very slow largo and finishing with a very fast prestissimo
