Cards are mixed up and placed face up on the rug in a scattered pile. Students play together adding cards to the snake without taking turns until all the cards are used.
- Notes and rests of equal values are interchangeable
- Dotted notes must be inserted between eighth, quarter, and half notes
- Use the wraparound between whole and sixteenth cards
- It’s easier to lay out cards in sequence next to each other in this game than in a pile as in Danish Zoo and Slow
To start, place the first two cards next to each other. Then motion for the students to keep going.

Stay close by and observe. Students shouldn't need your help to know which card to place next in the snake since the previous games have prepared them for this game. However, you may need to guide them occasionally.
