In Brief:
Students arrange rhythm playing cards in order saying, "Whole note, half note, quarter note, eighth note, sixteenth note. FINE!" First, play with note cards. Second, play with rest cards. Third, play with both notes and rests cards.
Objectives:
To practice the five notes and rests and to learn to pronounce "fine."
Prerequisite Concepts:
Puzzle Notes & Rests Chance Match, Blue Jello Cards set 1 (side 1)
Teacher's Role:
You play with your students, setting a good example of how to play the game.
Repetitions:
8-10 minutes. Although there shouldn't be too many mistakes, repeat until everyone is accurate. This game should be repeated regularly to refresh memories before a new card game with rhythm playing cards is introduced.
