In Brief:
Students lay out Blue Jello Cards like dominos. Teaching, playtime, and Dictation Cleanup are done silently to help students concentrate, maintain order, and learn more effectively
Objectives:
Read, sign, and “hear” rhythms
Prerequisite Concepts:
Blue Jello vocabulary
Blue Jello hand signs
All or most of side 1 of the blue jello cards - set 1
Learning how to think, feel and see rhythm as note groups (like words) rather than individual notes and rests
Teacher's Role:
After demonstrating the game, you observe, evaluate, and as needed, guide students while they play. You lead Dictation Cleanup
Repetitions:
Students love playing this game. It's an excellent reinforcement for reading and hearing rhythms. One key to being musical is to feel the beat internally
